Subject: this is the
Report of the Krakatoa Committee of the Royal Society [of Great Britain].

The committee was formed by the Royal Society “to collect the various accounts of the volcanic eruption at Krakatoa, and attendant phenomena, in such form as shall best provide for their preservation, and promote their usefulness.” The report collects and collates all the information available by 1888 (and not just those available in English).

The report contains many illustrations and photos, many of them coloured. The language is highly accessible.
